Improvised one take electric guitar pieces recorded at my former home in a village at the top of the French alps in May 2022. It's called Rainfall because the rain was falling, a lot. It has the Japanese title because I listen to Japanese music, a lot. I would describe this record as gentle music without a grand ambition.

The cover image is a photo taken on my phone between recordings and rainfalls. It's just up the hill from the house.

In honour of our friend Frances Donnelly, a fiercely brilliant and inspiringly creative musician who performed under the name Animal Magic Tricks, I will donate all the vast sales proceeds to the charity Mind. Frances' beautiful soul – and her absence – will stay with us forever.
